When we built it, we were like вЂHey, itвЂ™d be really cool if four people can ride this at the same time,вЂ™ so then we made the construction drone big enough so four people can ride it.вЂќ If youвЂ™ve ever appreciated the ample size of the construction drone in single-player, well, now you know why. вЂњEven the tools that we have show it, like the construction drone. вЂњWe know our game works really well in co-op,вЂќ says Thillainathan. Though online mode is separate from the single-player campaign, the team has had co-op in mind for quite some time. There are activities that can be completed solo as well, so you can work on your cell while waiting for other folks to join. Many co-op mission types only require two players, and are built to encourage players to work together and complement each otherвЂ™s skills and Operator choices. These are unique to the online mode, and task you and your crew of two-to-four hackers with objectives like destroying vehicles, neutralizing targets without being detected, and coordinating hacks, all in service of building out your own little faction of DedSec to face the challenges to come. Watch Dogs: LegionвЂ™s online mode really gets going with co-op missions. вЂњI think it also just creates a really cool social experience if you have a memory of recruiting somebody with a friend of yours, and I think that's a very powerful thing to have in a game about people and building a resistance.вЂќ вЂњHaving a dedicated space allowed for that kind of freedom,вЂќ says Thillainathan. вЂњWe wanted you and your co-op partners to be able to recruit the same person, so that when you leave the session, you have kind of a memory with each other, that вЂHey, we recruited the same person together!вЂ™вЂќ This change was made not only to expedite recruitment for the online setting, but also to adapt the Play As Anyone philosophy to the cooperative experience, says Lathieeshe Thillainathan, live producer on Watch Dogs: Legion.
